Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called for a wide-ranging social and progressive alliance, during his speech on Saturday, at a panhellenic meeting at the Galatsi Olympic Gymnasium, under the motto: “We are joining forces for a Greece of the many, and for people’s Europe”.

In the presence of politicians from the left, the broader center-left, ecologists and representatives of organizations and trade unions, Mr. Tsipras identified the event as the starting point of creating a broad progressive alliance to counter the conservative political forces and the threatening rise of the far right at the European elections.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had met with DIMAR President, Thanassis Theocharopoulos, where the SYRIZA-DIMAR co-operation was decided in view of the upcoming elections.
