The first Ministerial Conference of the states of the “Ancient Civilizations Forum” (ACForum) will be held in Athens at the initiative of Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias.
The meeting will mark the official establishment of the Forum, on Monday, April 24, at the Zappeion Megaron, following a joint invitation by Mr. Kotzias and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

In their invitation, the foreign ministers of Greece and China underline the common vision of the participating countries to capitalize on the cultural heritage of the past as a vehicle for promoting friendly relations, international cooperation, peace, stability and prosperity.
The upcoming Conference, with the participation – apart from Greece and China – of Bolivia, Egypt, India, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Mexico and Peru, is a cultural initiative among countries from different regions of the world that have been cradles of ancient civilizations.
Through shaping a broad a multifaceted positive agenda of joint actions of the ten countries, the Ancient Civilizations Forum aims to transform culture into a fundamental tool of a modern and multidimensional foreign policy and to highlight the international cultural cooperation as a factor of economic development.
