Andros welcomes a variety of theater, music and dance performances to take part in the Open Theater in the traditional settlement of Chora, as the “3rd International Andros Festival”, under the artistic direction of Pantelis Voulgaris, opens on July 29, continuing until August 25. “It is time to clean our souls,” said the Festival’s artistic director.
The festival’s poster is the work of painter George Hadoulis; videos for the festival were directed by Constantina Voulgaris, with music by Spyros Loukos.
The Andros Museum of Folk and Christian Art hosts an anniversary exhibition called “60 Years of the “Andriaki”; imprints of Andros’s history”. The exhibition is set at the old Mantzavelakis ice factory in Chora; its opening is set for Monday, August 7 at 8:00 pm.
Also, the P. & M. Kydonieos Foundation at the island’s capital hosts the 23rd PLOES event, subtitled “Temperate Zone”: The third part in a tetralogy associated with the environment, expressed through selected artists’ works.
The Vassilis and Eliza Goulandris Foundation’s Museum of Contemporary Art has organized a tribute to the distinguished poet, painter, and professor Nikos Engonopoulos, whose three complementary paths , on which he charted his course tirelessly for nearly fifty years.
