A new reality awaits pupils and teachers as schools open today, with the mask being mandatory for everyone. Pupils who do not wear a mask will be marked as absent.

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou attended this morning, the opening of the only school at the remote Greek island of Kastellorizo.

“If we use the mask on a daily basis, it will become a habit. Not only do you protect yourself, your friends and your family, but you show that you are a responsible member of the community”, said the president to the pupils.

“We return to class, following the measures, listening to our teachers and professors, following the instructions of the experts. We are learning in a safe manner”, said the Minister of Education Niki Kerameos in a special message.

At the same time, the number of coronavirus cases remain at three-digits, as 207 new infections were identified in our country in the last 24 hours, which is a cause for concern. More than half are located in Attica, while 54 patients remain intubated.
