As of tomorrow, Thursday 19 March, public outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people, will be banned and violators will be fined with 1,000 euros per person and case, said Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias, today in a briefing on the coronavirus pandemic. Mr. Chardalias also stressed that indoors recreational gatherings with the participation of 10 or more people, is strongly discouraged.

Regarding businesses, he said they have to adapt to remote work and when this is not possible “they operate with the necessary staff, strictly adhering to the safe and necessary distance between employees”.

The Deputy minister strictly recommended that citizens stay at their homes to avoid contact with people outside their immediate family.
