A new exhibition dedicated to Banksy, one of the most prominent street artists of our time, opens today, February 27 at the Technopolis of the City of Athens and will run through March 26.
Banksy is one of the most important artists of the 21st century. His thought-provoking street art pops up in places like Palestine and New Orleans and is showcased in galleries all over the world, beyond the streets of London where he became known. And yet, Banksy has managed to maintain his anonymity.
Provocative, genius, activist, artist, vandal, a violent adversary of capitalism and consumption, Banksy’s stencils denounce everything that is wrong with the Western capitalist world, like the excessive consumption of goods, people surveillance and the unnecessary use of violence to anyone who disagrees.
The People Entertainment Group exhibition offers the opportunity to experience a unique and memorable exhibition in Athens. Banksy’s works and messages come to life on the walls of Technopolis in this interactive exhibition that invites visitors to be photographed and become part of the universe of the revolutionary creator.
All proceeds from the exhibition will go to Amnesty International.
