Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis celebrated the eighth Olympic medal in the history of Greek sailing and the second at 470 after the gold that had conquered the Sofia Bekatorou and Emilia Tsoulfa at the Athens Olympics in 2004.

The Greek sailing is back on the podium at the Olympics, since the 2008 Olympics when Sofia Bekatorou, Sofia Papadopoulou, Virginia Kravarioti won the bronze.

Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic claimed Croatia’s first ever Olympic sailing gold medal, with the silver going to Australians, Matthew Belcher and Will Ryan.
