True to its annual commitment, the Animasyros International Festival and Cartoon Market, animation’s great Greek celebration, returns to Syros for the institution’s 11th iteration, scheduled to run from September 26-30. Featuring 3 competitive divisions, out of competition panoramas of films, and focused on the theme of “Children”, Animasyros 11 is once again expected to garner the attention of the global animation community.
Directors, producers, animators, anyone with an animation feature ready to be shared with the festival’s audience can submit to all three competition sections and take part in Animasyros 11. Applications for films and ongoing productions wanting to be part of the festival’s Market can be submitted through the Film Freeway online platform, and the Festival’s official website. The process opens tomorrow, February 15, and is completed on June 30, 2018. Interested parties can also contact the Festival’s officials at [email protected], or through the Festival’s Facebook page.
In addition, in the framework of the 2018 “Georgios Souris” Syros Carnival, Animasyros takes to its original seat to present on the island of Syros a workshop of animation art for people with disabilities. The workshop will take place on February 14 & 15 at the Apollo theatre.
