On Sunday, March 25, the Acropolis Museum will celebrate the Greek Independence Day by offering all its visitors free admission to its permanent collection, as well as to the “Eleusis: The Big Mysteries” temporary exhibition. The Museum’s exhibitions will remain open to the public from 9am to 8pm.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend various parallel events taking place on the Museum’s ground floor, such as a presentation of paintings, all from the Michalis & Dimitra Varkarakis collection, on the Greeks of 1821 and the ancient monuments, and a presentation of painting and calligraphy by Chinese artists of the Shanghai Museum.

The museum’s 2nd-floor restaurant will be joining in the celebrations by serving a traditional Greek dish.
