Centrists Union deputy and parliamentary group spokesman Georgios Dimitrios Karras on Friday announced his retirement from the party.
In a letter to parliament president which was read to the parliament plenum, Karras says he leaves the party and becomes independent without explaining the reasons for his decision.
Centrists Union Vassilis Leventis said to the press that Karras had told him that members of the party undermined him and asked for their removal.
“When the ill part leaves, the tree grows” noted Leventis.
Centrists Union parliamentary group in now counting eight deputies.
