The European Commission announced its proposal to the Council to grant financial support of the amount of 2.7 billion euros to Greece, within the SURE financial tool framework, as a way to counter the social and economic impact brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the amount that Greece will receive as a loan, is higher than the initial estimates and will cover job maintenance measures, which have already been implemented since last March and will continue to be implemented in the coming months.

The disbursement of the money which will be in installments, will start in September.
