The National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced 438 new coronavirus cases in the country, thus bringing the total number to 25,370, of which 55.6% are men.
Eighty-four (84) patients whose median age is 66 years, are intubated and 94.0% of them, have an underlying health issue or are 70 years of age or over. Two hundred and fifty six (256) patients have been discharged from the ICUs, while 9 more people have died from the coronavirus, which brings the total number of victims to 509.
The increase in infections and intubated patients makes the strengthening of the National Health System a priority. That is why the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend the inauguration of 50 new beds in the Intensive Care Unit at the General Hospital for Thoracic Diseases “Sotiria”, a reference hospital for coronavirus patients.
