There is a total of 892 confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece, according to Ministry of Health spokesman and Professor of Infectious Diseases, Sotiris Tsiodras.
At the daily briefing, Mr. Tsiodras said that 26 people have died, 21 men and five women, whose average age was 73 years old. 42 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
Referring to current research findings, Mr. Tsiodras said that if no measures are taken, the virus will spread faster. “We have to continue this way, we do not have exponential growth, but if the measures are lifted, we will have the same situation as in Italy and Spain.” At the same time, he stressed that the elderly are the most vulnerable group and must be protected.
