The archaeological exhibition “Cycladic snapshots of monuments and their people” opens today, at the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens.

The exhibition is being organized by the Cyclades Ephorate of Antiquities, in collaboration with the French School of Athens and the Byzantine and Christian Museum. It comprises selected “snapshots” featuring the people who from the late 19th century to the present day have worked for the reveal, protection and highlighting of the Cyclades’ unique archaeological and cultural wealth. The exhibition includes unique archaeological exhibits from the islands, most of which are on display for the first time.

The exhibition runs until February 28, and is part of the “On the Cycladic islands. Archaeological Work in the Cyclades” International Scientific Conference, which will take place at the Byzantine and Christian Museum from November 22-26.

The Conference aims to make public to the experts and the general public the multi-faceted archaeological work taking place on the Cyclades in recent years by Archaeological Service organizations, University and Research Institutes, and Foreign Archaeological Schools.
