The discussion on the 2018 budget is to be concluded on Tuesday in the Greek Parliament, with the speeches of the heads of the political parties. Their speeches are expected to start soon after noon and the entire discussion will be concluded in the evening with a roll-call vote.

The budget provides, among others, for a primary surplus of 3.8% of GDP, 2.5% growth and revenues from denationalizations amounting to 2.7 billion euros. According to the government, this is the last budget presented within the scope of the macroeconomic adjustment program and marks Greece’s entry into a new era of economic stability. 2018 is the last year of fiscal adjustment, said Alternate Finance Minister George Chouliarakis. The government celebrates while the poor become poorer, stated on his part New Democracy Vice-President Kostis Chatzidakis.
