“Greece has returned to growth,” declared the European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA).

The European official noted that during the three adjustment programs, the country implemented a major reform agenda that helped strengthen the competitiveness and foundations of the Greek economy, which is now developing.

The Commissioner responsible for the euro and financial stability also stressed that in the financial sector, things seem to be going well, since Greece has met its targets for 2018 and is expected to do so this year as well.

He also pointed out that Greece’s return to the international markets is clear, yet stressed that since Greece has stayed out of the markets for nine years, returning to them is a “delicate exercise” that leaves no room for maneuvers or mistakes.
