There are now four confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece. The first patient, a 38-year-old woman from Thessaloniki, transmitted the virus to her ten-year-old son and are both being treated at AHEPA, while a 40-year-old woman and a 36 year-old woman, who had also traveled to N. Italy, are hospitalized at Attikon Hospital, in Athens.

The families and professional contacts of the two women are under surveillance and self isolation, while the school the child goes to, has been closed for 14 days as a precaution.

The health minister also announced that all carnival events in the country would be canceled next weekend.

At the same time, the scientific community suggests to stay calm and to not panic, and the Ministry of Health has announced that there is at least one reference hospital in every Health District in the country that is fully equipped to deal with coronavirus, with adequate medical supplies.
