The Acropolis Museum will celebrate this year’s August Full Moon with two special musical evenings:
On Thursday 18 August, at 9 p.m., the museum will welcome in its courtyard the well-known Swingin’ Cats, with Greek and overseas oldies and dance. The cheerful band that was loved in the past as Penny & The Swingin’ Cats will take us on a journey to the times of innocence.
The museum will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight (free entry from 8 p.m. onward) and visitors will be able to enjoy the permanent exhibition areas but also the temporary exhibition ‘Dodona. The oracle of sounds’.
The second floor restaurant will be open during the same hours as well as the ground floor café. From 8 p.m. onward, besides the special dishes based on traditional recipes and local ingredients, the restaurant will present to the public a famous jazz music ensemble. Musicians include Spyros Rontogiannis on saxophone, George Tsiropoulos on piano and Christos Koromilas on contrabass.
On Friday 19 August, the museum will be open as follows: the exhibition areas will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the restaurant of the second floor until midnight.
