At a special ceremony today, the NATO flag will be raised next to the flag of Northern Macedonia, in front of the government headquarters in Skopje, according to the government’s press service of the neighboring country.

Signs reading “Government of the Republic of Macedonia” were removed from the country’s main government building and will be replaced by signs reading “Government of the Republic of North Macedonia”.

Northern Macedonia and Greece will inform via a joint letter, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres of the date of entry into force of the Prespes Agreement.

Thereafter, the Republic of Northern Macedonia will inform the United Nations Secretariat, the member states, the UN observer States and all other international organizations to which it is a member, of the changes that have taken place.

Local authorities will also receive orders to change the official documents, while public services will be sent guidelines for the use of the new constitutional name.
