Today is a historic day for Justice and Democracy as the President of the Court of Appeals will announce the verdict regarding the fate of Golden Dawn, at 11am after 5.5 years of trial.

Specifically, the Court will announce its decision regarding the fate of the party’s 68 members who are accused for three bloody attacks and who were tried for the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, the attack against Egyptian fishermen in Perama and the attack against PAME members in the same area. The Court will also have to determine whether Golden Dawn acted as a criminal organization under the guise of a political party or whether some of its members acted voluntarily and independently.

Our goal is not only the criminal condemnation in the Golden Dawn trial stressed the lawyer of the civil party Costas Papadakis in an interview with ERA, pointing out that the court is looking for the motive which is none other than the Nazi ideology.

More than 10,000 people, members of anti-fascist organizations, immigrants, trade unions, parliamentary parties are expected to gather outside the Court of Appeals, as well as the New Democracy representatives, Alexis Tsipras, Fofi Gennimata, Yanis Varoufakis.

There are tight security measures inside and outside the Court of Appeals with about 1,500 police officers on foot while special traffic regulations are being implemented, as Alexandras Avenue is expected to gradually close in both directions.

Anti-fascist rallies have been organized in other Greek cities all over the country.
