Giannis Gounas and Konstantinos Sidiropoulos will be presenting their work at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation in the exhibition “50 Haiku and New Age” that brings together the naturalism of haiku poetry as visualized by Gounas and the New Age visualizations of Konstantinos Sidiropoulos.
Talking about his “50 haiku” Gounas noted how he wanted to use colored pencils, ink and markers, materials from his youth, as an effort to return to a paradise lost, a desire to bring to life the innocence that birds, the object of his work, symbolize.
For his part, Sidiropoulos stressed how his “New Age” visual stories are full of light as well as darkness, and highlighted his process that starts out on a computer.
Giannis Gounas is an actor, who has worked with distinguished directors like Stathis Livathinos, Kostas Kazakos, Giorgos Michailidis, and others. He has also written lyrics for records and theatrical plays.
Konstantinos Sidiropoulos is a Doctor of Biology, and also a poet and lyricist.
