The debate on the WWII war reparations will take place during the plenary session on April 18, said House Speaker Nikos Voutsis during his visit at the National Resistance Museum in Larissa on Sunday.

It is “a historic moment that will launch an international debate and a claim at a transnational, interparliamentary and legal level,” said Mr. Voutsis, who also announced that a new museum/exhibition will be inaugurated in Auschwitz, on May 2, in memory of the Greeks who died in the concentration camps during the Second World War and which will be funded by the Greek Parliament.

Among other things, the House Speaker said that it is important, both in Greece and in Europe, “for memory to win against any attempts for oblivion, because there are history revisionists who want to revision the crimes, the Holocaust and the Nazi atrocities”.
