The Greek delegation walked out of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, in protest at the stance of acting president, to not allow questions and statements following the speech by the Turkish ambassador to the international organization.

In a statement, the Greek Parliament stresses that during the meeting in Brussels, the Greek delegation requested answers on the issue of violation of Greece’s sovereign rights and sought to brief the other delegations about Turkey’s illegal actions.

The statement also highlights the fact that Turkey, with its Libya agreement, deliberately violates the principle of international law that the islands are taken into account when delineating an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

However, the president had been systematically interrupting the Greek delegation’s speeches and questions, obstructing the development of its positions.
