Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction regarding Tuesday’s meeting with US President Donald Trump, that took place at the White House.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the meeting, the Greek prime minister confirmed the already established, excellent Greek-American relations, said that clear public positions were presented regarding the course of the Greek economy, while President Trump understood better the region’s geopolitical challenges.

At the meeting the two men agreed that the strategic cooperation with the US will continue and will be extended to all priority areas, such as investment and defense, as the two countries share a common vision for the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, while all issues related to Greek sovereign rights were highlighted.

Mr. Mitsotakis talked about the situation in the eastern Mediterranean to the US President and outlined our country’s positions on illegal and provocative Turkish actions, including Turkey’s memorandum of understanding with Libya, which destabilizes the entire region.
