President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos is on an official visit in China, where he paid a visit to Beijing’s “Forbidden City”, during which he underlined the value of civil dialogue in our turbulent times. The Greek president stressed that this dialogue is the basis for peaceful coexistence and co-creation, which we all need.
Earlier in the day, the Greek president met with the People’s National Assembly Chairman, Li Zanzhou. During that meeting, Mr. Pavlopoulos discussed Greece’s key foreign policy issues, with a special emphasis on the Cyprus problem, and stressed the need to find a just and viable solution without the presence of Turkish occupation troops. He also underlined Greece’s support for Cyprus’ sovereign rights on the basis of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Mr. Pavlopoulos also visited the Huawei Executive Briefing Center in the Chinese capital, where he was briefed on all current technological developments as well as on the vision of the company for a fully connected, intelligent world.
