In a statement, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu made known that before the EU summit that took place last Friday, a meeting between Greece, Turkey and Germany at the level of diplomatic advisers was held in Berlin, at the initiative of the German side.

The meeting attended Erdogan’s spokesman Ibrahim Kalίn, Maximos Mansion’s European Affairs expert Eleni Sourani, and Angela Merkel’s Foreign Policy Adviser Jan Hecker.

According to government sources, the results of the recent Foreign Affairs Council confirm the acceptance of the Greek positions, while at the same time Turkey is called to stop its provocative actions.

In any case, the same sources say, the channels of communication must be left open, especially in times of crisis.

The reactions of the opposition were intense after the announcement of the meeting.

In a statement, SYRIZA emphasized that the government must immediately inform about what was discussed in the tripartite meeting, while KINAL criticized the government for secret diplomacy and demanded immediate information.
