Greece and Turkey began the talks on Confidence Building Measures, in Athens on Monday, in an effort to keep the communication channels open. The meetings of the two delegations will take place daily at the Ministry of Defense until 21 February.

Athens is reportedly urging Ankara not to issue irregular navtex, to not block areas for submarines for a long period of time, to plan aircraft flights when they are to fly within FIR Athens, while both sides will discuss the activation of a “direct hotline” between command headquarters in Larissa (Hellenic Tactical Air Force) and the Turkish ones in Eskisehir.
