Dionysis Grammenos, founder and artistic director of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra has presented to the audience the ensemble as well as the dates for its first rehearsal (open to the public) and for its concert to take place at the new Greek National Opera at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center on December 4 and 11, respectively.

Introducing the Orchestra’s charter, Grammenos noted how “the country’s youth orchestra is a point of reference both for the country’s musical scene, as well as for the young musicians who will participate in it, as it showcases each country’s level of music education.

The Orchestra consists of young musicians from all over Greece, and of Greek musicians living abroad. Its primary goals are to identify, guide, educate and highlight new talented musicians in the symphonic and operatic genre, under the guidance of internationally acclaimed soloists, as well as of concertmasters of major Greek and European orchestras.
