Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Chardalias announced additional strict measures, at today’s press conference on the situation in Greece regarding the threat of coronavirus. More specifically, the year-round hotels will close until the end of April.

However, three hotels will continue to operate in Athens and in the northern port city of Thessaloniki, while there will be one hotel per regional capital that will remain open. The measure will be effective as of March 22, at midnight.

Mr. Chardalias also stressed that the Greeks returning from abroad, would be subject to mandatory surveillance and isolation for at least 14 days.

The Deputy minister once again strongly recommended that citizens remain in their homes: “going out should be kept to a minimum to serve vital and necessary needs”.
