IMF spokesperson Gerry Rice stated that the IMF might seek assurances by the Greek opposition that it will commit to the implementation of additional measures within the scope of the new agreement, which is yet to be reached. However, he refuted the claims that the IMF has been in contact with the opposition.

When asked whether the second bailout program review can be concluded without IMF’s participation, Mr. Rice reminded that both Europeans and the Greek government have explicitly expressed their wish for IMF’s participation in the new program.
