In a televised address Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message of unity, discipline and responsibility. “The coming weeks will also be decisive for our country. It’s up to us to ensure that they are tough and complicated but not nightmarish. So I ask you not to tear down everything we’ve built”, he said and reiterated that people should stay home and minimize social contact.

“Today, I announce that the State Budget is being revised. Thus, apart from the recently announced measures totaling 3.8 billion euros that already underway, there will be an additional disbursement from the state budget of nearly 3 billion euros to support the economy.

In other words, we are talking about 10 billion euros, without the forecasts of providing additional liquidity to businesses from the available financial instruments”, said the prime minister.

“I want to emphasize, once again, that no one in our country will be left alone until this adventure is over,” he concluded.
