Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with prospective investors on Monday, thus sending the message that at this juncture, Greece has a welcoming investment environment.
Mr. Mitsotakis welcomed the Deutsche Telekom (DT) CEO Tim Hoettges at Maximos Mansion and together they examined DT’s potential contribution to the government’s plans for the country’s digital transformation. The group also expressed interest in developing a fifth-generation mobile network (5G).
The Greek prime minister also met with representatives from alternative and renewable energy companies, RWE and Enel Green Power. The latter has largely invested in the wind farm in Kafireas, Evia and will be inaugurated today. The project will cover the power needs of 130,000 households, thus reducing our country’s lignite dependence by 450,000 tons. The project will make a significant contribution to achieving the government’s goal of Greece shutting down all lignite-fired power plants by 2028.
