Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in Berlin today and in Vienna tomorrow, as part of Greece’s diplomatic efforts to internationalize the immigration issue.

During his contacts with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, the Greek Prime Minister will insist on two things: that the government will protect the country’s borders from any illegal entry and that Turkey is consciously using migrants and refugees as geopolitical pawns for the promotion of its interests.

Mr. Mitsotakis’ aim is also to share the burden between the countries of the European Union and to find a definitive solution to the common asylum policy, which has been in consultation for years.
