“I am interested in having a strong government the day after the elections in order to have a self-reliant Greece that will stand on its feet,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis, noting that even if he succeeds in obtaining a one-party government, he will invite for wider convergence and exploit manpower outside the hard core of ND MPs to mark a policy of unity, enlargement and meritocracy.

At his speech at the 27th general assembly of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), Mr. Mitsotakis said that the election results did not surprise him because during his campaign around the country, he realized that Greece wants a big political change and specifically focused on the demographic characteristics of the people who have trusted ND. When questioned about the Commission’s report, ND leader said that it highlights what he himself has been saying for a long time, “the huge lack of progress in implementing major reforms to improve the state’s efficiency.”
