A light quake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted many areas of Achaia, Etoloakarnania and Fokida on Wednesday, just after midnight. According to the Geodynamics Institute of National Observatory of Athens (NOA), the quake’s epicentre was located 14 km north of the town of Egio (Peloponnese) with a focal depth 4.3 km.
According to the EuroMediterranean Seismologic Centre, the quake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was 13 km northwest of Egio.
Thirty minutes later there was a 4.3 Richter aftershock in the same area, the NOA said.
