Performances at the Epidaurus Lyceum, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival’s newly established institution, continue until July 19th, with educational workshops, events, lectures, and masterclasses composing a rich program for students from all over the world to be taught by internationally acclaimed artists. On July 18, Martha Frintzila takes the stage to present a performance based on Dionysus’s archetypal figure as a foreigner. Centered on music and its power over people, “Bacchae: A Liturgy” is structured as a therapeutic musical performance, bringing together raging rock, African beats and Arabic musical traditions.
