The implementation of the conclusions of the October European Council was reportedly requested by the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during communication he had with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
During his communication with the French President in view of the Summit of the leaders of the EU member states to be held on 10 and 11 December, Greek Prime minister raised the issue of sanctions, as set out in the October European Council conclusions on Turkey’s stance.
He assessed the situation as it stands and raised the issue of the October conclusions as Ankara continues its tactics of provocations against Greece and Cyprus.
Similar were the positions that Mitsotakis developed during the communication he had with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, to whom he clarified the position of the Greek side.
It is worth noting, however, that the President of France has repeatedly advocated the imposition of sanctions on Turkey.
