Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Rome today, where he will meet with his Italian counterpart, Giuseppe Conte, to explore prospects for further deepening bilateral relations, with a focus on the economy, trade and energy.
In this context, the timely completion of the TAP pipeline, which will transport gas to Europe via Italy, will be discussed, as well as the design of important energy projects that are under way, such as EastMed.
Particular emphasis will be given to the migrant – refugee crisis, an issue of particular concern to Greece and Italy, as they are particularly important as host countries. The two prime ministers will discuss the coordination required at a European level and the promotion of common policies and solutions at an EU level. The Western Balkans’ accession prospects and the need for this process to stay active, will also be discussed.
