EU Commissioner for Economic Affairs Pierre Moskovici expressed the wish for a swift conclusion of the second Greek economy assessment for everyone’s good but especially for Greece. The European Commissioner is visiting Athens on Monday next.
In an interview with news agency MNI, the Commissioner states that the aim of the visit is to discuss with the Greek Prime Minister, the Fin Min Euclid Tsakalotos and other members of the government, the challenges ahead.
Moskovici stressed in particular that additional prerequisites are by no means a new memorandum and complimented the stance of Euclid Tsakalotos in the negotiation.
He also noted that negotiations will be difficult in the autumn and deterred everyone from reopening the debate on the objectives of the primary surplus after 2018.
