The priorities of the Portuguese EU Presidency, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, immigration and the EU enlargement process were the focus of Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias’s meeting with his Portuguese counterpart, Augusto Santos Silva, in Lisbon.
Mr. Dendias stated that Greece is always ready and willing to participate in a constructive dialogue with Turkey, but in accordance with international law and in order to discuss the only issue that needs to be addressed, the delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone and the continental shelf. in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean.
In this light, he noted, at the invitation of the Turkish side, it was agreed that we would hold the next round of exploratory talks in Istanbul on January 25.
Regarding the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency, the Foreign Minister expressed the full support of Greece for the key issues that will be addressed in this context.
