The government has put forward for public debate, the draft law regarding asylum, which aims to put an end to legislative uncertainty in the functioning of administrative services and speed up asylum procedures.

The bill’s basic principles are: full respect for the rights of refugees, but also the requirement for them to cooperate with the authorities, with the main aim being that only those who have a refugee profile be included in the process.

The bill provides for expedited refunds from the first instance of asylum applications, referral to return procedures for those who do not comply with decisions to transfer them to other structures, whereas for the first time it is foreseen that those who do not comply from the outset, even before their registration, will not enter the system at all.
