The Secretariat General for Public Diplomacy & Greeks Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Vancouver, Canada, presented the new Greek language-learning platform StaEllinika.

The new digital platform’s full version is available for the Greek diaspora and anyone who wants to learn the Greek language and culture. Each teaching unit includes audiovisual educational material, online educational books and interactive exercises.

More specifically, parents, teachers and students will take advantage of the new modules on Greek language and culture, aimed at students of different age groups. These courses include Greek for Beginners (ages 4+, 6+, 9+ and 13+) History and Greek Mythology.

The application is now available on iOS and Android mobile devices (phones and tablets).

The platform has already gained more than 13,000 subscribers from 110 different countries over the last few months, according to information from the General Secretariat of Public Diplomacy & Greeks Abroad.

The platform was first launched as a beta version in April 2020 at selected schools of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Center for Greek Studies at the Simon Fraser University.
