The National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced 284 confirmed novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, while the spike in the cases in Attica, which have jumped to 141, have the scientists concerned.

Two more deaths due to the coronavirus were reported, which brings the total number of victims to 242. Their median age was 77 years.

Thirty-one people, whose median age is 67 years, are currently intubated. However, among them, there are two minors, 17 and 15 years old.

Lesvos is also under increased epidemiological surveillance, with the application of restrictive measures, starting today and until September 1, as 38 cases were reported in just one week.

The dining and entertainment areas will be closed from midnight, while the maximum number of participants in any public or social event, in private or public, indoors, or outdoors, is 50 people.

The measures are already in force in the Regions or Municipalities of Attica, Crete, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Larissa, Corfu, Karditsa, Pella, Pieria, Mykonos, Paros, Thira, Volos, Katerini, Rhodes, Antiparos and Zakos.
