Now in its 5th year, the Onassis Foundation’s Special Education programs are a continuing exercise in the inclusion and development of the social dexterities of children with disabilities. As part of the programs’ philosophy of expanding their audiences to the betterment of the process and all who participate in it, young kids and teenagers with or without disabilities work together in a non-discriminatory learning process that stimulates their imagination, and develops their communication and other skills. In April and May, children will have the opportunity to participate in the “The Art of Recycling” educational program, where recycling and environmental protection will be the vehicles for these learning outcomes.
In “The Art of Recycling,” participants will form groups, and use recyclable materials to create puppets. The program will be offered on 5 Saturdays (April 14, 21; May 5, 12, 19; 11am-1pm), with each meeting concluding with a 2 hour group activity, including 20-25 participants. The program meets at the Agia Skepi Playground in Palaio Faliro. It is intended for participants 5-15 years old, and each child needs to be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Participation in the program is free, but due to limited availability, it requires a reservation. You can fill out the respective form online here.
