Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had an open discussion with young people on the future of Greece and Europe, in an event that was organized by MEP Stelios Kouloglou and took place in Athens on Monday.

The Prime Minister once again ruled out the possibility of simultaneous national and European elections and invited young people to take the first step and go vote in these crucial elections for the future of Europe. Mr. Tsipras reiterated his position for a broad reunification of all progressive forces in the battle against the far right and the neoliberalism that nourishes fascism.

On the issue of brain drain that was repeatedly raised by the participants, Mr. Tsipras stressed that the government’s goal is to strengthen innovation and research. Furthermore, during the discussion, the importance of the NSRF program, which offers an important aid for “business” and is now allocated according to objective criteria.

The Prime Minister will visit the National Centre of Scientific  Research “Demokritos” today, where he will attend a similar event on “The future is here: From brain drain to brain gain”, which will be followed by an open discussion with young researchers and scientists.
