The Special Parliamentary Committee’s report on German war reparations will be debated today at the Huse’s plenary session and then a vote is expected to be approved, which will mark the government’s official launch of the German war reparations claim.

The claims of the Greek state were never forfeited and remain active, said House Speaker Nikos Voutsis, adding that the debate takes place two years after the publishing of the Intergroup Committee’s report, since during the memorandum period, no trading off Greece’s debt to Germany could have been carried out according to the support program.

In a statement, the National Council for Claiming Germany’s Debts to Greece, calls for coordinated and substantive debt claim actions, without losing any valuable time, and asks the political parties to include the necessity of claiming German debts, in their programs.
