The Governmental Council for Economic Policy (KYSOIP) met on Tuesday at the Maximos Mansion, under the Prime Minister’s chairmanship, during which, the key pillars of development policy for the Greek economy were presented.
The presentation was carried out by Nobel laureate and economist Sir Christoforos Pissaridis, who is also the head of the Development Strategy Committee, director general of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) Nikos Vettas and London School of Economics professor Dimitris Vagianos.
The Commission’s aim is to make recommendations to the Greek Government on the strategic directions on which the Greek economy should steer in the medium to long term. During the meeting, the commission discussed Greek economy’s chronic problems and structural weaknesses, analyzed the international context and referred to the domains with major development opportunities such as energy, tourism and the digital transformation of businesses and State.
The plan that is currently being drafted, will propose concrete development policies and will be finished by September.
