Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will be visiting China this week to attend the Belt and Road Forum, which will be held in Beijing at the initiative of the Chinese government. The Forum aims at improving connectivity between Europe and Asia. Under this scope, PM Tsipras will participate in talks for an economic cooperation agreement to be concluded between Greece and China.

Mr. Tsipras will also meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and UN Secretary-General António Guterres. In view of the Eurogroup meeting on May 22nd, where a package deal including debt write-down measures is expected, the Greek PM will also meet with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde in Beijing.
