The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece "has unanimously decided to continue the dialogue" with the government, according to an announcement the Prime Minister's Press Office issued on Friday.

The Greek government will therefore immediately draft a law based on the joint communique issued on November 6, the announcement continued, which was a historic step in redefining the relations between Church and State.

The bill will be placed at the disposal of the Holy Synod before it's submitted to parliament, the PM's office added, and matters related to clergy salaries will remain within the jurisdiction of the State.
