US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sent a letter to Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in which he states that the United States does not only speak of an obligation to settle disputes by peaceful means and avoid provocative acts or declarations, but above all, emphasizes that the “US they remains committed to supporting prosperity, security and democracy in Greece”.

In addition, the letter stresses that the US will continue to support Greece “as a crucial leader in Europe, a key ally and a critical player in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans”.

Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said that the letter is the crowning of the Greek Prime Minister’s excellent visit to Washington, and confirms that Greek-American relations are at their best possible level in many decades.
